Sinkane and Nicholas Krgovich at the Oslo Hackney

Last week I had the pleasure to attend Sinkane's gig at the Oslo, a Swedish restaurant & music venue in the London Borough of Hackney.

Sinkane is a Sudanese musician and singer signed to the highly-esteemed, NY-based DFA Records. He's a master at blending different genres to create an original sound — some of the most notable influences in his work are krautrock, electronic music, soul, and Sudanese pop. The past week marked the end of the first leg of the tour in support of his latest LP, Mean Love. The talented Vancouver-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nicholas Krgovich, backed by the English band Batsch, has been supporting Sinkane on tour for the past three weeks. Both Sinkane and Krgovich put up a fantastic show, alternating extremely intimate and highly energetic moments.

Sinkane was kind enough to give me a photo pass for the gig — these are some of the best pictures I shot during the show.
